Handwork: Flat Weaving with Michelle Boynton
Create a flat weaving project! The process includes warping a flat loom, weaving, and finishing a small rectangular piece that can be sewn into a pouch for holding crochet hooks or other small items. We will use a variety of fibers to weave and there will be an opportunity to create your own hand spun yarns to use in the project.

Puppet Show Workshop: 'Seed of Light' with Rox Etheridge
Take part in the production of an original story presented in puppet form! Seed of Light follows the journey of a precious Seed, torn from her home in Africa and carried across the sea to sprout and blossom in new soil, as told by characters such as the Baobab Tree and Wind Spirit. Learn about and take part in prop making, set building, puppet manipulation, acting, singing, and more! This club will conclude with performances at the end of the Winter Block in February as a fundraiser for the The Margaret Wade-Lewis Center at the historic Ann Oliver House in New Paltz. Attendance to this club’s Winter Block or performances is not required to participate in this club.

Amadou Diallo is a percussionist from Senegal, West Africa, and enthusiastically shares his culture with children and adults. Since arriving in the Hudson Valley in 2001, he’s done hundreds of performances, workshops, presentations and classes on West African culture and traditional African rhythms.

Middle School Co-Ed Basketball with Mr. C
Whether you’re new to the game or already love to play, the Co-Ed Basketball Club is the place to build your skills, develop your game sense, and become a true team player, while having a great time and making new friends along the way. Through weekly practices, fun drills, and friendly scrimmages, you’ll learn: 🏀 fundamental basketball skills: shooting, passing, dribbling, defense, and teamwork; 🏀 game strategies and court awareness; 🏀 leadership, sportsmanship, and the importance of team effort. Join Ms. Seaira in making Eco-Art out of plastic "recyclables" that get a 2nd life as Art, as Art is Life:). Students will develop their sculpting skills with a paper-mache process and paint their creations. Students can bring in their own plastic recyclables, paper-towel or toilet paper rolls, scrap paper, old newspapers, and/or scrap colored tissue paper. Students may have the opportunity to aid in the production of an original puppet show being created to honor Black History Month.
