Take part in the production of an original story presented in puppet form! Seed of Light follows the journey of a precious Seed, torn from her home in Africa and carried across the sea to sprout and blossom in new soil, as told by characters such as the Baobab Tree and Wind Spirit. Learn about and take part in prop making, set building, puppet manipulation, acting, singing, and more! This club will conclude with performances at the end of the Winter Block in February as a fundraiser for the The Margaret Wade-Lewis Center at the historic Ann Oliver House in New Paltz.
Please Note: Registration to this club’s Winter Block is not required to participate in the Fall Block.
Seed of Light is an initiative led by the MLWS Voices for Inclusion & Equity (VIE) Committee, with the intention of bringing our community together in celebration, creativity, and purpose. All program fees will be applied toward the materials needed to build props and sets. Rox, a novice storyteller, artist, and Waldorf parent, believes in the power of community and imagination to heal and inspire. As she learns to tell stories rooted in truth and resilience, she brings heart and vision to projects that center belonging, creativity, and joy. Rox will be joined by members of our community who are volunteering their time and expertise to bring this vision to life fully.
